The purpose of this course is to help attendees identify the challenges dental personnel face while working with the pediatric dental population. Discuss various types of patient personalities to determine how to properly manage patient behavior based on personality types. The course will also teach communication strategies to better connect with each parent and patient in order to improve the patient's oral care habits.
From this lecture attendees will:
1. Discuss ways to properly navigate through the challenges dental hygienists face while working with the pediatric dental population
2. Identify the various types of patient personalities to determine how to properly manage patient behavior based on personality types
3. Learn how to communicate with and connect with each parent and patient in order to improve the patient's oral care habits.
Trudy-Ann Frazer was born in Negril , Jamaica and grew up in Stone Mountain, Ga. She attended Oakwood University where she gained a BS in Biology and later attended dental school at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN . Due to her love for working with children and her passion to reduce health disparities, she gained a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. After 2 years of practicing dentistry, Dr. Frazer began experiencing symptoms of burnout and began her journey to discover various treatment modalities. Due to her own experience, she has developed a passion to help other healthcare professionals pivot from a life of stress and burnout to a more balanced and satisfied life by encouraging body awareness, promoting self care, and improving physical, mental, and spiritual health
